Vegas Casinos Post Highest Wins For July

On September 14th, 2007, a good accounting method and a little stroke of luck helped casinos in Nevada to achieve the biggest one month gambling win during the month of July. The casino facilities in the state of Nevada won a total of $1.146 billion from punters in July 2007, surpassing by $3 million the previous result of $1.143 billion.

The 10.1% improvement was the 1st double digit positive result for 2007 and the 3rd one in the last year. The double number improvement astounded industry experts because the month of July held no important events like a big convention or sporting spectacle.

July 2007 has also one month less compared with the same period last year. But some slot machine profits that were produced the last week of June, which ended in a Saturday, were not taken into account until July. The senior research analyst for the Gaming Control Board, Frank Streshley said that they are initially expecting lesser results but they are happy with what they have been able to achieve.

Considerable improvement in a lot of casino table games in the state, especially with blackjack and baccarat, boost the statewide win. Total blackjack casino wins on the Las Vegas strip during July were $101.9 million, a 28.7% improvement from the same period last year, while blackjack wins improved 13.9% to $136.6 million.

Baccarat casino wins on the Las Vegas strip, which makes for 99% of the state's total win, was $71.5 million, a 28.2% improvement. Gambler's lackluster luck also benefited casinos in the month of July. Streshley commented that the casinos' winning result for baccarat and blackjack, 13.6% for blackjack and 15% for baccarat, were above average.

State casinos also won $47.9 million from craps, improved 16.1% from last year and $35 million from roulette, a 24.1% improvement. Table games casino wins accounted for $368.4 million of the total win, while the slot machines earned $761.8 million. On the Las Vegas strip, casinos won a total of $606.8 million from gamers, which is a 14.1% increase compared to July 2006.

The figure was smaller from the Las Vegas strip's historic gambling win of $642.4 million. Clark County's total win improved from 13.4% to $964.7 million from $850.9 million from the same period last year. Bear Stearns gambling analyst Joseph Greff commented that the Red Rock Casino, which opened its doors in April 2006, made the comparisons for the same period a year ago because of new visitors to the Red Rock casino.

The last week of June contributed significantly to the slot profits for July improving some of the county's result in areas that has a high slots demand like in North Las Vegas, Boulder City and others. The casino facilities in the downtown area posted total gaming win of $53.7 million, a 9.6% improvement from $49 million in July.

The casino facilities in the Boulder Strip area, which include Henderson, had produced profits of $85.1 million, a 13.2% improvement from $75.2 million in 2006. North Las Vegas profits improved 15.4% to $28.5 million from $24.7 million last July. Mesquite profits improved 21.1% to $15.5 million from $12.8 million.
