Seneca Tribe Plans for Permanent Gambling Facility

On December 31st, 2007, the Seneca Indian tribe has grand plans for a permanent casino facility in Buffalo. They are currently in the middle of a lawsuit regarding the casino facility. Now the Seneca tribe has decided to expand their temporary casino facility because the online casino ban has increased the demand for land-based casinos. The Seneca tribe currently has a casino facility that has 6,000 square feet of gambling facility.

About 135 slot machines are offered by the casino facility. That figure will rise to 244 slot machines after 109 slot machines are added. The expansion plans of the tribe will double the pace of the current expansion and it could be the start of a long and tedious legal wrangling over the casino.

The tribe is expected to spend $3 million for the temporary casino. The blueprints for the permanent casino facility of the Seneca Tribe are being finished. The new cost for the brand new permanent facility is estimated at more than $300 million. A hotel facility will be constructed as well as other customer amenities that will make the facility world class.

The permanent casino facility is expected to be completed and opened for business in 2010. The temporary gaming facility of the tribe has been open for business for six months. Its yearly report to the Federal Securities and Exchange Commission has been recently filed. The report contains the tribe's plan for their gambling expansion.
