The Oregon Lottery has sent a notification to GTECH, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lottomatica S.P.A., informing it of its intent to award the company a seven year contract to issue a new online lottery system, new terminals, and ongoing services through a competitive process of procurement.
The proposed contract is expected to be signed in 2007 and it will include provisions on renewal for up to three years. Should the deal push through, the system is expected to be put to use in 2008.
GTECH has been servicing the Oregon Lottery since 1985, when it began online sales. More details of the award will be released once the company has signed a definite agreement the Oregon Lottery.
