Opening of the Amelia Belle Casino to be Determined After Gaming Board Meeting
The Grand Opening of the Amelia Belle Casino, a new floating casino facility in Louisiana, will be delayed at least by a month. Previously, the casino operators were hoping to open the gambling casino by late April 2007 or May 2007.
However, Trudy Fuselier, the lawyer for the Louisiana Gaming Control, commented that Columbia Sussex organization officials requested that the Amelia Belle Casino opening review be pulled out from the board's agenda for the time being.
That meeting was held on Wednesday, May 16, 2007 in Baton Rouge. The new opening schedule of the Amelia Belle Casino will be decided after that meeting.
Neal Narter, the General Manager of the Amelia Belle Casino, said that the decision to move the opening will give employees more time to prepare before the opening of the casino.
The workers at the site of the casino at the Lake Palourde in Amelia are rushing to finish the 3rd deck of the casino's kitchen space.
The "soft opening" was planned to help prepare the casino's employees for the real opening. If the state gaming board finds everything in order, the casino will be given permission to open this May.
