Niagara Casino Planning Expansion of Facility
On May 17, 2007, the Niagara Casino facility announced that they are planning to construct an entertainment center which can accommodate 5,000 people in their casino.
Falls Management Corporation, the owner of the Niagara Falls View Casino, announced that their company plans to construct an entertainment center to accommodate the growing demand for such a facility.
The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, the state's gaming control board, has already permitted the study for the new facility. The proposal is still under study and there is no definite date yet or even exact location for the facility.
A final deal has not been made yet, but with the 100% visitor occupancy in the hotel facility of the Falls View Casino, the plan is likely to push through. Criticism for the project is expected to come, as this could be a serious threat to the Niagara Convention and Civic Center.
The establishment worth $100 million to be built near the casino gambling facility. According to officials, the study could take about a year.
The Falls View Casino resort is a 2.5 million sq ft area which hosts 3,000 slot machines and 150 gaming tables, a 368 five star hotel, a 1,500 seat theatre facility. With a $1 billion budget, the project is also claiming to be the biggest construction project in Canada.
