On April 27, 2007, Bruce Hotel and Casino of Chilco River Holdings announced that it will be changing its casino name to Miramar Hotel and Casino.
The hotel located in the heart of the tourist area in Lima Peru is currently under renovation. After the project is completed, it is expected to offer 300-350 slot games and a poker room. These new slot games will be added to its current 22 existing machines.
Prior to the expansion, Miramar casino was known as a leading casino gambling in the gaming market in the South American region.
Tom Liu, Chilco River Holdings CEO, explains that the new name, Miramar, means water view in Spanish, which perfectly describes the new expansion of the casino as all of the 60 hotel rooms offer scenic views of the ocean.
Miramar revenues exceeded $10 million with earnings of more than $4 million.
Chung Lien Investment Management Ltd. had linked partnership with Chilco to get funds for the completion of the Miramar expansion.
The arrangement between Chilco and Chung Lien Investment will allow Chilco to open the Miramar Casino in August.
A contest with a grand prize of a 4 night stay in the hotel with round trip tickets will take place as part of the celebration of the re-launching of the Miramar Casino.
