Kansas Casinos Improve Profits Despite Lower Visitor Numbers

On August 13th, 2007, it was reported that the casinos in Kansas City posted bigger profits despite a lower number of visitors.

The Kansas City casino industry reported profits of $62 million in July, improved 2.2% from $13.8 million last year. The casino industry's customer count was 947,976 in July, a 6% slide from $1.01 dollars last year.

The Argosy Casino facility announced profits of $15.5 dollars in July, improved 12.7% from $13.8% million last year. The Argosy casino had 216,542 customers, improved 8.5% from 199,582 visitors in 2006.

Harrah's Entertainment North Kansas City Casino and Hotel had profits of $17.6 million, an improvement of 2.6% from $17.2 million in 2006. Argosy casino had 258,588 visitors, slide down 10% from 287,297.

Industry leader Ameristar Casino and Hotel Kansas City posted a profit of $21.9 million, a 1% slide from $22.1 million in 2006. The casino had 331,946 customers, a 4.3% slide from 346,981 in 2006.

The Isle of Capri Casino in Kansas City had profits of $7 million, a 9% slide from $7.6 million in 2006. The casinos had 140,900 visitors, a 19% slide fromm 174,376 in 2006.
