IP Casino Facility in Biloxi Planning $100 Million Expansion
On May 19, 2007, the IP Casino Hotel Spa announced that they are planning a $100 million expansion as well as detailing their land acquisition plans in Biloxi.
IP President and General Manager, Jon Lucas, informed the members of the Mississippi Gaming Commission that some of their expansion plans are already in the works. He commented that some of the construction will be done behind enforced walls so that their visitors will not be disturbed.
According to Lucas, their biggest project will involve a movie theater facility in July to make an additional space available on the second floor for convention purposes. He said that IP Casino Hotel can then offer land based casino games. Around 900 slot machines will be placed on the casino barge. 14 casino table games will be added on the offering and the poker space will be moved to the 3rd floor of the facility.
Lucas said that their expansion activities will offer Back Bay as a view and they will also have a new Asian restaurant named Tien.
In addition, the IP Casino is reconstructing their 78 suites and Club IP. The recent land acquisition of the gambling casino has enabled them to expand their parking space.
