Good Year for Indian Casinos
Indian owned casinos raked up an estimated amount of $22.6 billion dollars in gambling revenues alone just last year, exceeding the revenues that the gambling establishments in Nevada earned from their own operations.
According to the National Indian Gaming Association, which is a trade group, that is another good year for American Indian casinos.
The 22.6 billion dollars of the Indian casinos revenue last year was a 15% percent increase from the previous $19.6 billion dollars Indian owned casinos have earned in 2004.
Since Congress created the legal framework for Tribal gambling back in 1988, the industry has recorded a double digit growth since that year up to the present.
As of the present, there are now a total of 408 Indian owned gambling facilities all over the country which includes 247 full-blown casinos who offers slot machines to gaming enthusiasts and other related Las-Vegas style games. Other gambling centers scattered across the country are much smaller than those Las-Vegas style casinos and offer video poker, bingo games or other games short of slots.
