The French Lick Casino is scheduled to hold another job fair on August 18 to 19, after a successful job fair last June. About 350 people were offered jobs and hired and are now in training for 10 to 12 weeks. The trainees will deal and run the craps, roulette, and poker tables. Blackjack dealers will be training later this August.
Still in preparation for its opening this November, the casino will feature more than 650 guest rooms and suites, an 84,000-square-foot casino, 45 holes of golf and two full-service spas. The French Lick Casino will be offering jobs for at least 600 people who will be working at the facility.
The French Lick Springs Resort and the new French Lick Casino, which will open on November, and the West Baden Springs Hotel that will open in June of 2007 are all part of the $382 Million restoration and casino development project of the French Lick Sprinds Resort and Casino.
According to officials, the hourly wage for house keepers at the French Lick Springs Resort starts at $8 an hour, while Casino dealers may earn up to $50,000.
According to Scott Spurlock, the general manager of the French Lick Springs Resort, with the additional job fair in August they are expecting to have all positions filled before the resort and casino opening in November, "We couldn't be happier with the turn out we had for our June job fair" he continued.
