Casino Mogul Stanley Ho Denies Crime Syndicate Connection Accusations

Stanley Ho might be advance in his years but that does not mean that the popular casino tycoon is going to ignore the accusations against him lightly. That is why on March 19th, 2010, he vehemently denied any connection with any organized crime groups in mainland China.

Gambling regulators in the state of New Jersey alleged in a report that Ho had knowingly permitted organized crime groups to operate inside his casino facilities in Asia. The report comes from the New Jersey regulators finding that Pansy Ho, Stanley Ho's daughter, was not a suitable partner for MGM Mirage. Instead of following the ruling, MGM chose to give up their stake of the Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa.

The company has decided to move away from the casino industry of Atlantic City rather than cut their partnership with Pansy Ho. A statement released by MGM claims that the group has a spotless casino managing record at the MGM Grand in Macau.

Janet Wong, a spokeswoman for Stanley Ho, said that Ho's position on the issue is very clear, that there is no foundation in any allegations that he is connected with any organized crime groups or triads.

Wong said that Ho had not yet seen the report before releasing her statement. MGM Mirage has taken serious issue with the connection that Atlantic City gambling regulators made between Stanley Ho and Pansy Ho. The group explained that the elder Ho had nothing to do with their business partnership with Pansy Ho and that he was not directly involved in the deal.
