Tim Leiweke, the CEO of Anschutz Entertainment Group or AEG, the company that bought the Millennium Dome, said that Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott indeed discussed plans to open a super casino at the Dome during his controversial stay at the Colorado ranch of Philip Anschutz.
Philip Anschutz is the owner of AEG, and is bidding for the Millennium Dome to be turned into Britain's first super casino.
Leiweke has released a statement to an American newspaper that the issue of a super casino came up "in a couple of conversations that were very minimal and insignificant".
The Tories back in Britain claims that this statement goes against Prescott's claims where he 'categorically denied' any talks pertaining to the super casino during his vacation at the casino tycoon's estate.
A spokeswoman for Prescott took the statement in stride and said that Lieweke's comments proved that there were no discussions about casinos.
The statement by Leiweke was given to the Los Angeles Times, in defense of the relationship between his employer Anschutz and the Deputy Prime Minister.
Lieweke likewise said that suggestions that Anschutz had sought favors from Prescott were "vicious" and "false".
He also pointed out that they were aware that Prescott did not have any responsibility for the decision on where the super casino would be located.
