BetonSports Reaches an Agreement with US Department of Justice

This Tuesday, an agreement was made between the online gambling organization BetonSports PLC and the US department of Justice, allowing BetonSports to continue with their online gambling services starting from the end of this week.

Gary Kaplan, among other owners of BetonSports, was charged with 20 felony violations of federal laws. These include:

David Carruthers, the CEO of BetonSports, was recently detained by the DoJ. Both him and Peter Wilson are among the last of BetonSports management that have maintained close ties with Kaplan, and they are expected to leave the organization to allow for BetonSports to continue to operate freely.

The detention of Carruthers was made by US federal authorities, and later he appeared in the Federal Court in Fort Worth, Texas, where he was indicted on charges of Racketeering, Conspiracy and Fraud. This has meant good news for certified online casinos, which continue with their online gambling business as usual.

BetonSports is one of the biggest online gambling organizations, and its prosecutions by the DoJ has been previously linked in the media to the recent bill passed on the US House of representatives that prevents credit card use in online gambling activities.

The final decision on BetonSports will be held in the next couple of days. This hearing will not only affect BETonSPORTS and its Costa Rica based operations, but on other online gambling companies as well.
