On October 3rd, 2007, Casino operator Columbia Sussex Corporation is planning to remodel two of their most recently bought properties and an architectural organization from Covington will do the job.
Architectural Group International (AGI) commented that it will design new features for the Casino Aztar, a riverboat casino facility located in Evansville, Indiana and the Tropicana casino facility in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
A theater facility that can accommodate 1,000 people will be constructed on an infill located across the road from the Aztar facility. The theater, which will be open to the guests of the casino and public, will showcase comedians and entertainers in a hushed environment.
In Atlantic City, AGI is remodeling the gaming area of the Tropicana Casino. The remodeling plans include a bar with top slot machines and will be following Tropicana's Havana outlook. The project is expected to be completed by January 1st, 2008.
The architectural firm has been a consultant of Columbia Sussex since 2004. Columbia Sussex from Fort Mitchell bought the Aztar Corporation in January for $2.1 billion. Its gaming interests include thirteen casinos like the Tropicana Casino and Resort in Atlantic City, the Tropicana Resort and Casino in Las Vegas and the Casino Aztar in Caruthersville, Montana.
