Caribbean poker is the most popular version of poker in online casinos. In Caribbean Poker you play poker against the casino. The card rankings are the usual poker hand rankings. Caribbean poker is also know as Caribbean Stud or Stud Poker.
Caribbean poker is an ante game meaning that prior to making a decision about betting in the game itself you must place a bet called ante.
Both you and the banker are dealt five cards. The top card of the banker is flipped face up. After you reviewed your hand you may now take decision to either
- Call, placing a call bet that is equal to twice amount of your ante
- Surrender, giving up the game and letting the banker have your ante.
After you take the decision the banker will open his cards. In Caribbean poker the dealer must qualify before matching against your cards: the dealer must have an Ace-King hand or better. If he does not, you receive back your bet and win a compensation equal to your ante.
Once the dealer qualifies, the hands are matched. If the banker beats you then you lose your ante and your call bet and the round is over.
However, if your hand beats that of the banker, you receive even money (1 to 1) on your ante and pay out on your call bet as follows:
- Royal Flush - 100 to 1
- Straight Flush - 50 to 1
- Four of a Kind - 20 to 1
- Full House - 7 to 1
- Flush - 5 to 1
- Straight - 4 to 1
- Three of a kind - 3 to 1
- Two pairs - 2 to 1
- High card or a pair - even odds (1 to 1)
